Certifai Pro - Console Configuration

On this page you will learn how to configure certain aspects of your Certifai Pro instance in the remote Console.

Certifai Pro Console

The Certifai Pro Console is accessed through a URL and contains features that are specific to the Pro Edition, including:

Menu

A menu icon at the top right displays your account type and options including:

  • Storage Settings
  • SSL Certificate settings
  • Change Password
  • Download Kubeconfig
  • Install Sample Reports
  • Logout

Additional functionality

The Toolkit-only (local) Console and the remote Console for Certifai Pro have much the same functionality and navigation as described here.

The remote Console however provides production-ready functionality and secure authentication to support it.

Certifai Pro Console adds the following pages:

  • A login page that provides secure access to the remote Console
  • A page for configuring storage for reports and datasets, which is platform specific:
  • A page that provides the kubeconfig file and setup needed for running Kubernetes to orchestrate your production environment.
  • A page that allows you to set your SSL certificate to a custom URL with an active SSL security certificate.

Download kubconfig

To run remote scan jobs in your platform cluster you must download the kubeconfig file to your local drive.

Click the menu item to automatically start the kubeconfig file download.

SSL Certificate settings

The default certificate used by Certifai Pro is a self-signed Kubernetes certificate that may not provide the security users require for production environments. User can change this default to a secure SSL certificate from the remote Certifai Console by following the instructions below to upload their own SSL certs.

Instructions linking a domain name to your VM and for obtaining a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) are available from your platform provider.

Pre-requisites

  • Either a domain name or a FQDN (fully qualified domain name) linked to your platform VM
  • SSL certificates (Certificate body and Private key in PEM format) issued by your Certificate Authority (CA)

Upload SSL Certificate Steps

  1. Open your remote Console instance and click the menu icon.
  2. In the form that opens copy and paste the following:
    • Domain
    • SSL certificate
    • SSL key
    • Certificate chain (optional)
  3. Click Upload.
  4. Close your remote Console browser window and reopen in another tab. Be patient; the certificate change may take a few seconds to be reflected.

Install sample reports

Click this item to load sample reports to your configured remote storage so they can be viewed in your remote Console instance.
